Lauren Stradley is an advocate with My Educational Solutions who specializes in communication disorders. Lauren Stradley began her career wanting to help children and families when she pursued her Bachelor’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders back in 2010. After graduating in 2014, her desire for wanting to help people with communication differences continued to grow. She decided to pursue her Master’s in Special Education with a focus in Deaf Education. Her love of teaching and passion for helping children and families navigate public education with communication differences pushed her to receive a 4.0 in her Master’s program.
During her time at Georgia State University, she worked as a graduate research assistant in the Center for Literacy and Deafness (CLAD) which developed reading curriculum normed on K-2 students with hearing loss. She watched hours of video being able to analyze running records on students to determine the accuracy and reading rate of each student after receiving instruction in the curriculum.
I approach advocacy and IEP coaching differently than most folks. Part of that is my background, which is in sales and finance rather than education and administration. My past workplaces solved problems instead of minimizing or hiding them. Consequently, I focus more on the student’s needs and less on where the team disagrees. This method increases my success rate with IEP teams. By keeping my focus on the child, I often sidestep personality clashes, refocus the school team on the student, and create a solid plan for the parents to follow. Making education better and more accessible is my goal for every client, every IEP team, and every meeting. I was a volunteer advocate for many years, helping people for free simply because they needed assistance. I started my business in 2016 to help more families. My 14 years of experience, both paid and volunteer, has given me a wide exposure to different situations and unique solutions. My Educational Solutions exists to guide children with learning disabilities with individualized education plans from preK-12th grade. We excel in helping children with special needs achieve their full potential, both academically and behaviorally.
